Abstract
Inflammation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases including arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Imaging and therapy of inflammation is therefore crucial for the management of a plethora of diseases. In recent years we have developed a series of pH- or reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive materials by functional modification of cyclodextrins. Nanoparticles derived from luminol-conjugated materials can serve as luminescent nanoprobes for noninvasive imaging of different inflammatory diseases. On the other hand, ROS-responsive nanoparticles based on phenylboronic acid pinacol ester-conjugated cyclodextrins can be used for targeted treatment of diverse diseases, such as colitis, atherosclerosis, restenosis, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. Using different candidate drugs, we demonstrated the therapeutic advantages of these ROS-responsive nanovehicles. Also, we proposed a new strategy for targeted treatment of inflammatory diseases, using cyclodextrin material-derived nanoparticles with hydrogen peroxide or broad-spectrum ROS eliminating capability. Importantly, extensive studies indicated that nanoparticles based on these ROS-sensitive cyclodextrin materials displayed good safety profiles.

張建祥,陸軍軍醫大學藥學與檢驗醫學系教授♙,博導,先後入選原總後優秀青年科技人才👤、陸軍科技英才和重慶·英才創新領軍人才。擔任中國藥學會藥劑專業委員會青年委員👃🏼、中國藥理學會抗炎免疫藥理學專業委員會常委、中國生物物理學會臨床分子診斷分會委員🔻、中國抗癌協會納米腫瘤學專業委員會常委、四川省第二屆藥品安全專家委員會專家、重慶市藥品監督管理局藥品、醫療器械、化妝品專家委員會委員🏌🏼⛅️、國家重點研發計劃專項評審專家、國家科技獎評審專家、Chinese Medicine編委👵🏻、《中華燒傷雜誌》編委🛶🙅🏼、Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences青年編委等學術職務。長期從事抗炎藥物材料及釋藥系統研究,先後主持國家自然科學基金等課題10余項;在ACS Nano👨🍳、Adv Funct Mater🕒、Adv Mater、Adv Sci、Biomaterials、JACC、J Control Release🌴、Mater Today、Nano Lett、Nano Today、Sci Adv👩🏻🍼、Small等刊物發表SCI收錄論著100余篇🍫,獲授權國家發明專利11項。
